Jaelin (Jay) E. Patterson is a Chicago-based documentary photographer. His passion for photography came after the urge to be set apart from his peers/family/community. Soon after his mom's passing in 2018, things changed for Jay. As his mindset for wanting to be around people escalated, he developed a passion for being around a Christ-centered community at People Church Chicago. His photography elevated into meaningful, candid, intimate, colorful, and impactful documentation work. Although he has been through a series of trials and tribulations, he is excited about the future. Everyone who meets him states that he warms the room and makes everyone feel included, genuine, and set apart, also known as "the Jay effect." Will you partake in the movement?
